Strasser vs. Strausser?

Q: Ok, so which is it? "Strasser" without the "u", or "Strausser" with the "u"?

A: Both. The original spelling, i.e. the spelling that came from Germany along with John Henry Strasser, was without the "u". Many Strassers, being frustrated that "straw-sir" was being improperly pronounced as "stray-sir", started putting the "u" into Strasser. Both spellings come from the "Strasser" lineage.
